New Haven Beats Stonehill 23-16
Sharieff Hall caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Osiecki for the game-winning touchdown with 21 seconds left. It was the Chargers first home this season and their first Northeast-10 Conference win.
Third quarter
Victor Jones scored on a 1-yard touchdown run to put New Haven up 15-10. Ryan Osiecki's two-piont conversion attempt was picked off.
Second quarter
Osiecki connected with Jason Thompson for a 5-yard touchdown with just 4 seconds left in the first half. Michael Herrera's extra point was blocked, keeping Stonehill ahead. The Skyhawks broke a 3-3 tie when Danny Carducci scored on a 2-yard touchdown run at the 12:14 mark.
Mistakes Continue
Costly mistakes have been the theme of the Chargers' season thus far. With a chance to cut into Stonehill's 10-3 lead, New Haven had a bad snap on a field-goal attempt and then was called for intentional grounding on the same play.
Penalties
Stonehill has been fortunate. The Skyhawks, leaders of the NE-10 in most penalties, have five penalty. But New Haven hasn't been able to take advantage.
