SCSU at Bryant, live

Final push
SCSU needs two scores and its drive stalled at the 21 yard line.
SCSU looks like it will drop to 0-2 on the season


Crunch time
Bryant took over at the 20 and marched the length of the field on 16 plays. A back-breaking drive. Bryant fumbled twice on the drive and both times recovered the ball.
The drive was capped when Croce rolled out and hit Matt Tracey in the end zone for the score.
With 5:57, the score is: BRYANT 19, SCSU 10


Edging closer
Hazelton booted a 30-yard field goal to cut the deficit to: BRYANT 13, SCSU 10

3rd-quarter action
After forcing a punt, Southern drove to the 1-yard line but Roberts was stopped short on a keeper just inches away from the goal line.
Bryant took over and was forced to punt from its own end zone.
Martin Manson returned the punt to the 15 yard line so SCSU is back in business.
With 3:30 to play, BRYANT 13, SCSU 7

Half time
SCSU got a much-needed score with a minute left in the first half. Chris Roberts found Andre Privott open in the end zone and Privott just hung onto the ball.
That followed another field goal by Bird of 27 yards.
Score at the half: BRYANT 13, SCSU 7

Time to play catch-up
Chris Bird hit a 37 yard field goal to increase the Bulldogs' lead. 10:22 left in the first half. BRYANT 10, SCSU 0


End of the 1st quarter
SCSU dodged a bullet when punter Chris Hazleton fumbled the snap and Bryant blocked the punt. But Bryant could not advance past the Owls' 26 and turned the ball over on downs.
SCSU got the ball back and Jerome Cunningham made his first collegiate reception but SCSU was again forced to punt.
After the first quarter the score remains; BRYANT 7, SCSU 0


Game time
SCSU took possession to start the game and ran the ball well.
Jarom Freeman was impressive with two good runs, one for 18 yard. But Chris Roberts was sacked and the drive later stalled.
SCSU punted into the end zone and Bryant's first drive began at the 20.
Bryant then drove the length of the field and scored on a 36 yad pass from Mike Croce to Khalel Pritchard.
With 5 minutes to play in the first quarter, Bryant leads 7-0.
