College football picks for Week 5; Michigan is the best bet
Michigan will be angry after its embarrassing performance at home against Akron a week ago. It is clear the Wolverines weren't focussed against the FCS foe.

How bad was that narrow win? Well, consider that Akron was nowhere near as good as the Appalachian State team that shocked the Big Blue a few years ago at Ann Arbor.
That spells bad news for the Huskies who probably couldn't beat Akron anyways.
Expect Michigan to roll on the road at UConn just as UCLA did as my best bet a week ago.
Best Bet: Michigan.
Preferred: USC, Kansas State, Arkansas State, Oregon State.
Here are the lines. Picks are in

NCAA picks for Week 3; picks for every game and best bet
After a fine week 2 here we go for week 3 of our college football picks.
Best Bet: UCLA: The fact that the Bruins are getting 4 here is a joke. Nebraska is ranked and they are at home but there is no team destined for a meteoric rise to the Top 10 like UCLA. Get on them while the lines are still in your favor. This is the best UCLA team in many years and Brett Hundley is a Heisman Trophy candidate you'll be hearing about soon.
Other preferred bets: USC, Wake Forest, Penn State, Maryland.
In the I wouldn't bet it category but you have to pick it: I'll take Alabama to pull away late and cover the 7 against the Aggies.
Good luck. Here are the lines and the picks for every game are in
bold.

NCAA football picks against the spread: Week 1
Here we go again for another year of college football picks against the spread. I will pick every game on the docket and include my best bet.
 |
| Quarterback
Nick Patti leads the Boise State offense. |
Here are some things to think about. In the early season there are lot of inflated lines as out-of-conference matchups tend to bring mismatches. But also remember that it is early in the season and coaches are trying to give youngsters a chance and keep their stars rested.
That's why I'm taking both UMass and Central Michigan. Look at the Wisconsin line. The Badgers are giving 44.5 points and the total is just 53.5. The books feel that Wisconsin will virtually shut them out but if UMass gets just one touchdown then the only way you could hit a Wisconsin and under bet is by the score of 45-7.
I don't like that but I do like the under. I'm thinking more like 35-7 here.
Best bet: Boise State (They always get off to fast starts)
Preferred: Nevada (UCLA is going to be good but Nevada is no pushover. The number is too big. Boise State always gets off to fast starts).
Good luck and get ready for a long, hopefully profitable season.

Betting the Ivies; Picks for Saturday night's game
Here is Saturday's installment of betting the Ivies. Last night we were 2-1-1 with the best bet winning in a blowout.
Harvard -2 at Yale
Harvard has won three straight in the series and it didn't get tested last night. Look for Harvard to win this one in a war.
Pick: Harvard
Dartmouth at Brown -7
Dartmouth was a one-man show last night as Alex Mitola scored 27 in a blowout loss. The rest
of the Big Green will show up tonight and at least keep it close and they may win it
outright.
Pick: Dartmouth
Penn at Columbia - 7
Frankly the Lions are not playing well enough to give anyone 7.5 points.
Pick: Penn
Princeton -5.5 at Cornell
Another crucial game for the Tigers but they'll run into an angry Big Red team. Cornell keeps this one tight and may pull off the upset.
Pick: Cornell

College football picks for Week 10, Best bets are 5-2
The last-second change from Northwestern to USC sent my best bet record to 5-2 for the season.
The write-up was mostly about NU so I hope everyone stuck with them.
This week I'm going with West Virginia over TCU. A couple of week ago Geno Smith was the Heisman favorite. He's fallen from grace lately but the Mountaineers are still a win away from being bowl eligible and have two tough games on the horizon. After scoring jut 28 points in the past 2 weeks Smith will erupt today.
Elsewhere, I can't see LSU beating Alabama and believe that 'Bama will get the late cover. The Oregon-USC game should be a war.
As usual, my picks for every game are in
bold.
Best bet: West Virginia
Preferred: Michigan, South Florida, Over on UCLA game

College football picks for Week 9; 5-1 on best bets
After spottting Temple a 10-0 lead at the half, Rutgers rolled to a 35-10 victory to secure last week's best bet.
That puts us at 5-1 for best bets on the season, with our only loss coming when UCLA won 21-14 against Utah while giving 9.
That still smarts but we're on a roll.
This week we're going with
USC as the best bet. If you look at the Pac-12 there have been very few upsets especially with the late games being one-sided. USC has the defense to shut down Matt Scott and KaDeem Carey and that will be enough. You know they'll score
I also thought about Northwestern. The Wildcats are coming off a heart-breaking 29-28 loss to Nebraska. While that may have dampened their spirits it really showed how talented NU is and they should post a double-digit win this weekend. My problem is if they fall behind 7-0 it's tough for them to cover a TD spread.
Best bet: USC
Preferred: Boise State, Texas

College football picks for Week 8; Best bets are 4-1
Last week UCLA failed to cover the 9-point spread in a 21-14 win over Utah. That broke our 4-game winning streak on best bets.
So, we're 4-1 on best bets heading into Week 7.
This week were going with Rutgers as the best bet. Greg Schiano certainly didn't leave the cupboard bare when he took of for Tampa Bay. Temple should have lost at a bad UConn team last week but the Huskies' kicker missed four field goals and they gave up a late tying touchdown.
Best bet: Rutgers
Preferred: Purdue, Texas game over, NC State

College football picks for Week 7, looking to go 5-0 on best bets
Arizona took Stanford into overtime last week giving us our fourth straight best bet to start the season. The Wildcats led by 14 points late and were getting 9.5 points so we never sweated on this one.
This week our best bet is UCLA. We've had a great deal of success in the Pac-12 this season and we're sticking with it here. UCLA turned the ball over six times last week and freshman QB Brett Hundley threw four picks. That's because the Bruins had to abandon their running game leaving Hundley in the line of fire. That won't happen this week. UCLA will run wild here and Hundley will only have to make the safe throws.

UCLA and QB Brett Hundley should roll against Utah |

College football picks, Week 6
Ok, we've got three straight best bets that have rolled home on the season. Last week our preferred picks went 3-1.
So where do we venture to keep the streak rolling?
This week we're headed back to the Pac-12 where we've had a great deal of success.
I like Arizona to at least keep things close against Stanford and I can see them winning this one on the field. Stanford seemed to be a bit exposed last week and Arizona, although it's defense is suspect, should be able to score with the Cardinal
Best Bet: Arizona
Preferred: UMass, Northwestern, Iowa State and UCLA
Remember, the picks for every game on the listed in
bold.
Home teams are in caps.
Here's the slate.
