EXTRA CHARGE: New Haven using 2010 loss as motivation

WEST HAVEN >> University of New Haven coach Pete Rossomando has not forgotten about the 35-26 loss to Saint Anselm that kept the Chargers out of the 2010 Division II playoffs. With the Chargers travelling to Manchester, N.H., to face the Hawks Friday, he made sure this New Haven team knew about the loss, too.
“That’s probably the toughest loss, next to the IUP loss (in the 2012 Division II playoffs), that I’ve ever had to endure,” said Rossomando, who told the team about the loss after Thursday’s practice. “That was our first chance at the playoffs and we had it in our grasp. They just played much better than us and they won the game.”
